New Restaurants Open on the Destin Harbor

Feb. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- The Florida Panhandle has many appealing features, one of them being the seemingly endless dining options. For those who don’t reside in the area, they are probably surprised each visit to see even more restaurants popping up. While there doesn’t seem to be much more room to expand, we are happy to have such a variety to choose from. That being said, the Destin harbor has two grand openings already this year.

Cheeseburger in Paradise has been in the Silver Sands Outlet Mall for some time now and Panama City has a Margaritaville but now the harbor has its own Jimmy Buffet-inspired restaurant. The Destin location for Margaritaville officially opened this month in HarborWalk Village. From Volcano Nachos to specialty margaritas, guests can enjoy the coastal-inspired menu along with great music and stunning views.

Jackacudas Seafood and Sushi restaurant is new at the harbor with a grand opening on Fat Tuesday next week. It is located in the former location of Poppy’s Crazy Lobster. A team of longtime friends and locals here in Destin came together to open the restaurant with hopes of going beyond the standard seafood dining experience in the area. Jackacudas boasts natural and organic products, a gluten-free menu, a large beer and cocktail selection, as well as supporting local businesses for fresh ingredients.

On March 8^th at HarborWalk Village, Crab Island Cantina will present Tequila and Taco Fest. Along with tequila tastings and a variety of tacos, there will be contests and live entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Salvation Army. There will be festivities around Destin in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. The 6^th Annual Irish Street Fest and Grogg March will be on the 15^th at HarborWalk. Visitors are invited to enjoy Irish music and dancing, and games throughout the day and evening. Baytowne Wharf will also host a celebration with traditional Celtic music at the events plaza on March 17^th.
