Feb. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Lowcountry and coastal Georgia music lovers have a treat in store. The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will be performing their annual Symphony Under the Stars in a circus tent on the grounds of the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on the evenings of April 8 and 9. The circus tent is a fitting venue, as the theme of this year’s concert is “Carnival.” The event is sponsored by Infiniti of Hilton Head (http://www.infinitiofhiltonhead.com/our-history/).

“We’re looking forward to the ‘carnival’-themed event this year,” said Warner Peacock, President & CEO of New River Auto Mall. “This is sure to be a great concert and we're happy to be involved with the orchestra once again.”

To make the two concert nights even more special and festive, conductor John Morris Russell and the orchestra will be joined by the eclectic Velvet Caravan Band.

Based in Savannah, the Velvet Caravan performs a combination of honky-tonk, gypsy, Latin, and swing in what they describe as “European redneck music.” Upbeat rhythms, humor, and astounding virtuosity can be expected whenever they take the stage.

As in past Symphony Under the Stars concerts, audience members are encouraged to don costumes inspired by the theme, and to decorate their tables and menus in a fun-filled competition for a wide range of prizes.

Guests bring their own food, drink, and table settings, which can be as elaborate or as simple as they like. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and water will be available for purchase from the League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. Proceeds from beverage sales will go to support local youth orchestra programs.

Providing a casual outdoor symphonic experience, Symphony Under the Stars promises to be a delightful evening for attendees. This year’s Carnival-themed concerts look to be especially enjoyable.

Tickets are available for purchase at $70 for individuals and $700 per table, and there are 6 premium tables available for each night at $80 per person or $800 per table. For more information, call the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra at 843-842-2055 or contact them online (http://www.hhso.org/contact-us).

Sponsor Infiniti of Hilton Head is expecting Symphony Under the Stars to once again be a huge success. They encourage all music lovers from Savannah to Beaufort to don their best carnival costume and come out to enjoy the wonderful sounds of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and the Velvet Caravan Band on April 8 and 9.
