Feb. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Exploring the seas may prove to be a rewarding experience in the Maldives, a destination renowned to offer premium diving, since there’s so much to explore what lies beneath the Indian Ocean. Maafushivaru is blessed with great underwater experiences for snorkelling and diving given its prime location in the far end of the South Ari Atoll.

And this February, Maafushivaru’s underwater experts are thrilled to announce the discovery of a new snorkelling/diving site i.e. Bis Thila. Reachable within 15 minutes by boat, Bis Thila is a smaller thila (local word for pinnacle) inside of the atoll. It is recommended for experienced divers, with its plethora of overhangs at a depth of 20-30 metres. Colourful nudibrances lay eagerly on the corals to be spotted by macro photographers and those with keen eyesight.

The ecosystem is rich and thriving with soft corals, which is visible at a depth of 3-10 metres. Marine life is abundant, with schools of chunky tunas, curious white tip reef sharks, the ever curious turtles and the majestic eagle rays. Bis Thila, has become famous for its guaranteed sightings of turtles, that makes it a good pick for snorkelling excursions as well. It was very recently, that a school of manta rays were spotted along with bottle-nosed dolphins making Bis Thila, a very exciting and mysterious site to delve into.

Gear up for an expedition to Bis Thila with the team at Maafushivaru to engage in vivid experiences!
