Follow on Google News | Start a Business with Bitcoins? Now You Can!Northwest Registered Agent, a leading, national registered agent service, now allows clients to form corporations and limited liability companies using bitcoins.
NWRA helps entrepreneurs form and maintain limited liability companies (LLCs) and corporations. Through the company’s website, clients who are planning to form a new business entity can sign up for NWRA’s registered agent service and, instead of paying with a debit or credit card, they can pay with bitcoins. “We believe that the bitcoin is not just a passing fad,” said Drake Forester, NWRA chief legal strategy officer, “so we’ve invested the time, money and effort to incorporate the digital currency as part our strategy moving forward to hopefully keep a leg up on the competition.” By accepting bitcoins as a form of payment, entrepreneurs will now be able to form an LLC or corporation without a bank account. Forester said starting a business with bitcoins could give business owners an added layer of privacy and potentially give more people access to entrepreneurship. Prior to NWRA’s implementation of a bitcoin payment policy, there was no way someone could form a business entity without a bank account. Bitcoins are a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency invented in 2009. In the four years of the currency’s existence, the bitcoin has gained a hardcore following among technology enthusiasts. But Forester doesn’t see why more businesses haven’t tried to adapt to the bitcoin’s arrival. “If more and more people begin using bitcoins, it will be a cheaper way for businesses to operate,” said Forester. Transaction fees are lower than the typical 2 to 3 percent charged by credit card processors. -more- “I think bitcoins are a win-win for both Northwest Registered Agent and our clients,” said Forester. For nearly 20 years, Northwest Registered Agent has been recognized as a leader in innovation throughout the industry.
