A Celebration To Mark A Century - Southern Ocean County Chamber 100th Gala Reception

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - March 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Thursday May 15, 2014 will mark 100 years to the day of the establishment of the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. The 100th Celebration Committee has planned an event to capture the spirit of the turn of the last century while focusing on the future of the region.  The Long Beach Island Foundation for the Arts & Sciences in Loveladies, will reflect a turn of the century shore style that evening with catering by Touch of Elegance that includes a lavish menu featuring shrimp cocktail, clams on the half shell, pasta stations, filet mignon, passed hor d hourves and a Viennese table.

A special Centennial Award presentation with WJRZ Radio personality Glenn Kalina serving as Master of Ceremonies will include honors for local business people and organizations who have contributed to the many aspects of making Southern Ocean County a better place to work, live and visit.  The Southern Ocean County Chamber 100th Anniversary Committee and The Boar of Directors proudly announce the Community Trailblazer Award will be dedicated to the memory of Captain John Larson for his contributions to sustainable employment and economic growth of the community, Outstanding Stewardship Award to Mr Lew Richards, Board Member and Owner of Crust & Crumb Bakery of Bay Village for his dedication to the members and efforts of the Southern Ocean County Chamber, The Next Wave Award recognizes Jillian and Todd Elsasser  of Panzone's Pizza & Pasta for their increasing involvement in leadership roles, The Heart of the Community Award will be presented to the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation for their contributions to improving the healthcare services and programs within Southern Ocean County, Timothy Kohlheim for Entrepreneur 2014 for successful launch and expansion of his restaurant Shore Fire Grille, and the Dedication to Tourism Award presented to Tuckerton Seaport for their community approach and desire to positively promote what is best in Southern Ocean County through events, programs and service.
