Feb. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA, the arts organization that brought you the No Budget Film Festival, GALAXY (http://wearecartel.org/galaxy.php), Dinosaurus, and the Sound/Stage (http://laist.com/2012/03/27/soundstage_at_el_cid.php) series announces a last call for musician & visual artist  submissions for Brokechella’s fourth and largest installment, taking place April 19th, 2014.

Brokechella is happy to announce a partnership with LA Weekly. Brokechella producer and cARTel founder Negin Singh notes, “LA weekly has consistently shone a light on underground music & arts events and we're proud to have them align with us in such a big way for Brokechella. The sole purpose of our event is to empower emerging and talented artists, while providing an accessible place for people to party and celebrate their community. We couldn't think of a better match than LA Weekly to help us make year four the best one yet. “

Brokechella is looking for the best acts from L.A.’s music scene and beyond for its 2014 lineup. Bands, DJs, Hip-Hop acts, and more are invited to submit for the festival. This year for the first time since 2011, Brokechella welcomes solo performers and comedians to submit to perform on our fourth “Lounge” stage, and for the first time ever, to celebrate LA as the most culturally diverse city on the planet, each stage will showcase at least one act that could be categorized as “world music.”

The design aesthetic this year is Broke Kingdom, and we are encouraging artists of all kinds to submit. Whether you create street art, gallery pieces, installations, or live art, we want you to help create our one of a kind landscape.

Submissions are open now at http://www.brokechella.com/call-for-submissions/UNTIL March 1, 2014

Don’t miss what the LA Times (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2012/04/coache...) recognized as the community experience that skips “the mortal terror of your credit card statement” and “revels in staying at home.”

About cARTel: Collaborative Arts LA

We do a lot of stuff. A lot. We bring locals together through boundary-pushing arts events and highly collaborative, ensemble-driven productions. We fill our audiences and our casts with people who are not interested solely in performing or solely in watching, but rather in sharing the experience of art with one another. We look to empower both long time and beginner artists by providing inspiring opportunities to create and perform, diverse and affordable workshops, and dynamic venues to meet and engage with like-minded visionaries. We believe that a community alive with art will thrive with conversation and understanding, and progress. Art conversing with people conversing with people conversing with art. Founded in 2007.
