PRLog - Feb. 25, 2014 - VENTURA, Calif. -- The Ventura College Art Galleries announces the opening reception of its Annual Spring Faculty Exhibition. The reception features a silent auction, food, wine and free ceramic cups and takes place Feb. 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Ventura College’s New Media Gallery, 4667 Telegraph Rd., Ventura. All proceeds from the auction benefit students competing in the Ventura College Annual Student Awards Exhibition, a juried art show in April where winners receive monetary prizes and gifts.
“L'Enfer Canto 20” by Salvador Dali is one of many pieces being auctioned.
Auction items include original works of art by Francisco Goya, Salvador Dalí, John August Swanson, Luigi Fumagalli, Carlisle Cooper, Philip Evergood, Ventura College faculty and regional artists and sculptors.
The Annual Spring Faculty Exhibition runs from Feb. 27 through March 27, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the school’s Art Gallery 2. It features a variety of art from painting, printmaking, photography, digital art, drawing, sculpture and ceramics. Faculty contributing to the exhibition include: Sharon Coughran, Julie Dahl-Nicolle, Catherine Day, Sharla Fell, Bruce Freeman, William Hendricks, Gwendolyn Lewis Huddleston, Pam Huth, Martin Isaacson, Debra Mckillop, Bob Moskowitz, Amy Oliver, Myra Toth, Jenchi Wu, and David Young.
