Feb. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, WA, – A multi-day walking trip exploring both Maasai and Batwa cultures, a luxury safari in and around Cape Town, and an adventure which offers two vantage points for the famous river crossings of the Great Migration are three new-for-2014 private departures available through African Safari Company http://www.africansafarico.com/.

“As we dig ever deeper into Africa, our safaris become ever more engaging as we’re able to layer texture upon texture, and experience upon experience,” said Julia Nesbitt, director of sales and marketing.

The first of three new trips that exemplify this company’s knowledge and experience is Walking Wild in Kenya & Uganda: http://www.africansafarico.com/safari/walking-wild-kenya-uganda/, a 12-day adventure designed to expand the traveler’s knowledge through a unique look into two cultures. Guests explore the wildlife-rich Lewa Conservancy eco system with Maasai guides in Kenya on a multi-day walking trip before meeting the seldom-visited Batwa in Uganda and then ending the trip with gorilla trekking.

“We know of no other tour operators offering such an active and culturally immersive trip in two diverse African eco-systems,” said Nesbitt.

Guests will be taught tracking techniques and other vital bush skills, as well as how to identify and understand the behavior of the insects, plants and animals they come across. Local Maasai morani (warriors) guide the guests on the walking safari and give insight into traditional Maasai customs. In Uganda, the Batwa people are one of the last remaining pygmy tribes in Africa. The first records of the Batwa were made by the Egyptians over 4,000 years ago and they are still living in some of the same places, straddling their historical culture and the new Western ways.

The per person double rate from $7,990 includes airport transfers, privately guided walking safari, shared game drives, regional scheduled flights within Kenya, accommodations, most meals, drinks in game reserves, park fees and custom planning services. Not included are international flights, inter-Africa flight Entebbe/Nairobi, gorilla permit, Uganda scheduled charter flights, visas, tips and gratuities and laundry unless otherwise noted. Proof of Yellow Fever vaccine may be required and anti-malarial medication is recommended subject to advice from a doctor. This trip departs year-round except in November.

Another new program has created a luxury eight-day trip of the standard Kruger Park and Cape Town combination, Best of Kruger & Cape Safari: http://www.africansafarico.com/safari/best-of-cape-to-kruger-8-days/. The trip begins with four nights in the exclusive Lion Sands Ivory Lodge in the famous Sabi Sands Private Reserve where clients stay in suites complete with a separate lounge and private plunge pool overlooking the bush. The adventurous can spend the night out in the wilderness on an elevated platform (a candlelight dinner, huge bed with crisp linens and an enclosed bathroom set this sleep out far above camping).  Then it’s on to the Mother City, Cape Town, where guests lodge at the Cape Grace, a multi-award winning and uniquely Cape Townian five- star hotel in the Victoria & Albert Waterfront. Private activities include a helicopter flip over the city and surrounding Cape and tailor-made wine tour including tastings of locally made chocolate and cheese.

The rate is from $8,498 per person, double, and includes airport transfers, shared game drives and walks, regional flights (Johannesburg/Sabi Sands), accommodations, some meals, drinks in game reserve, park fees and custom planning services.  Not included are international flights, inter-Africa flight Nelspruit/Cape Town, sleepout at Lion Sands, visas if needed, tips and gratuities and laundry (unless otherwise noted). No vaccines are required; anti-malarial medication is recommended subject to advice from a doctor. Please check the website for scheduled small group departures throughout the year.

East Africa Great Migration Safari: http://www.africansafarico.com/safari/east-africa-migration-safari/ targets the July-September window when the huge herds of Wildebeest and Zebra migrate through the Northern Serengeti in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya, making perilous river crossings on the way. This safari is experienced at a leisurely pace and offers great photographic opportunities. In addition to the Great Migration, the trip also includes the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, a World Heritage Site and also one of the World’s Seven Natural Wonders. The crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. This is one of the best places in Northern Tanzania to see black rhino.

The rate is from $9,360 per person, double, and includes airport transfers from Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha and at the end of the trip to Nairobi, privately guided walking safaris, shared game drives and gorilla trek, regional scheduled flights, accommodations, meals as noted, drinks in game reserves, park fees and custom planning services. Not included are international flights to Kilimanjaro and from Nairobi, visas, tips and gratuities, laundry unless otherwise noted.  Proof of Yellow Fever vaccine may be required and anti-malarial medication is recommended subject to advice from a doctor.
