Guests explore the wildlife-rich Lewa Conservancy eco system with Maasai guides in Kenya on a multi-day walking trip before meeting the seldom-visited Batwa in Uganda and then ending the trip with gorilla trekking.

Guests will be taught tracking techniques and other vital bush skills, as well as how to identify and understand the behavior of the insects, plants and animals they come across. Local Maasai morani (warriors) guide the guests on the walking safari and give insight into traditional Maasai customs. In Uganda, the Batwa people are one of the last remaining pygmy tribes in Africa. The first records of the Batwa were made by the Egyptians over 4,000 years ago and they are still living in some of the same places, straddling their historical culture and the new Western ways.

The per person double rate from $7,990 includes airport transfers, privately guided walking safari, shared game drives, regional scheduled flights within Kenya, accommodations, most meals, drinks in game reserves, park fees and custom planning services. This is one of the best places in Northern Tanzania to see black rhino.
