LOS ANGELES - Feb. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Building on her growing appeal with international audiences everywhere, accomplished R&B/Jazz vocalist and recording artist Jimena Bautista is keeping things moving with an Hip Hop Weekly appearance, upcoming concert, and a new short film feature.  At the end of March, Jimena returns to her native Mexico, where she will perform songs from her new hit album, My Swing Moods, in concert at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL) at the Theater Aula Magna, located in Nuevo Leon, Monterrey.   This performance, supported by Dr. Jesus Ancer Rodriguez, Rogelio Garza Rivera, and Rogelio Villareal Elizondo, features the musical direction of Edgardo Mendez Guzman and is brought to you by production manager Francis Peon Aleman of EMG Producciones.

My Swing Moods is "all about positive emotions," Jimena says, "it's been a big step forward for me."  The collection, which was released during a live concert this past August at Jazz Club Muliero in Cancun, is a distinctive gallery of the artist's latest work, including songs like Evidence Under The Pillow, We Will Always Be Together, and Showtime.  Joining Jimena on the album are pianist Mario Patron, Aaron Cruz playing stand-up bass, drummer Giovanni Figueroa, and Grammy Award-winning engineer Alessandro Perrota, who worked with R&B icon Tony Bennett.

There's also an exciting new short film, co-written by Jimena and noted cinematographer Alfredo Estrada, coming your way later this year.  Directed by Ricardo Braojos, known as one of Mexico's best filmmakers, the story follows a young jazz singer pursuing her dreams, with sensual and passionate scenes, and an intriguing plot twist.  Assisting Braojos on this project are photographers Esteban De Llaca and Miguel Bracho.  The picture features a soundtrack of songs from My Swing Moods, and is currently in production.

Jimena continues to reach new fans, and she was prominently featured in a recent issue of the national music journal Hip Hop Weekly along with Pop Couture stars Beyonce, 2 Chainz, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian, Nicci Gilbert, Toni Braxton & Marc John Jefferies.  Social awareness is also a central theme in Jimena's life and career.  Last year, she joined the United Nations' Say NO, Unite To End Violence Against Women in Latin America campaign.  "I was very honored to become part of this campaign, to send a message around the world to stop the violence," Jimena states.  "Violence against women in Latin America is a severe problem, and we shouldn't be afraid to say it out loud."  The program encourages Latinas to stop the cycle of abuse through education and understanding that they can get away from their abusers.  Participating in the UN campaign is an important part of Jimena's professional life.  "Women need to see that there is a better life for them out there."
