PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Feb. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- If you’re in business and give talks lacking in confidence, expertise, or charisma ...

  - you don’t lead

  - you don’t convince

  - you don’t sell

Here’s the problem: In my work as a speaking coach people tell me all the time how much they dislike, even hate, speaking before others.

And is it ever obvious when I sit in on their presentations ... the shaky voices, the tense and uninspiring delivery, the red faces and off-putting body language.

“I look stupid,” they tell me. “I sound like a dolt.” Or, “I put everyone to sleep.”

And beyond looking bad and feeling worse, what they say they hate most is the thought of “blowing it” in front of the boss, or perhaps losing a sale.

Bottom line: Bad talks are bad for business.

If you work in today’s business world, it’s a safe bet that you, too, find yourself “up there” in the front of the room from time to time, giving talks or presentations while secretly wishing you were anyplace else.

But you do it anyway. You have to. It’s part of your job. And wouldn’t you agree that communication in business is vital? To your company? To you? You bet it is! Your success, prestige, prospects for advancement, and income all depend on your ability to convince others by giving talks with:

  - confidence

  - expertise

  - charisma

And, if you’re like most people, you would just as soon kiss a cobra as speak before others! If so, I promise you that reading this book will change your life because it will teach and inspire you to speak with more confidence, more expertise, and more charisma.

And, yes, you most certainly will increase your chances of success, advancement, and a higher income.

As a colleague told me a while back, “Giving a great talk impresses people better than a Rolls in the driveway and a Rolex on your wrist.”

No matter what sort of speaking situations you may find yourself in ...

  - delivering reports

  - presenting sales talks

  - hosting events

  - teaching classes

  - delivering lectures or seminars

  - conducting or attending meetings …

... it is highly likely that you’ve experienced some form of discomfort or anxiety, commonly known as “stage fright.” In fact, did you know that speaking before others is consistently ranked the #1 FEAR IN THE U.S.? The #1 fear! That puts it ahead of all the other “heavy hitters” such as spiders, financial ruin, even death!

Stage fright can take many forms, from basic discomfort to more serious freezing up before others. Maybe you’ve drawn one too many memory blanks or tripped excessively over your words. Perhaps you've stood there looking timid or uncomfortable. In any case, this is not a good way to impress a crowd ... not to mention a boss or client.

If you’ve ever experienced anything of the sort, let me share with you a couple of trade secrets right now:

First: Acquiring the skills to speak before others with total confidence will not only eliminate the unpleasant symptoms of stage fright, it is THE ANSWER to just about everything else that will make you a more successful speaker. Things such as:

  - Strong, articulate voice-quality

  - Improved poise and appearance

  - Convincing delivery

  - Connection with your audience

When you’re up there and you feel good and gutsy everything else just falls into place.

This book is a collection of all the best lessons I’ve learned over the course of my many years as a teacher, seminar leader, and professional musician. Lessons that taught me how to get loose fast and be at my best in front of any audience. Lessons that taught me how to make sure that my audiences enjoy being there as much as I do.

Read them, put them into practice, and I promise that you will look forward to your next talk with fewer shakes, a looser gut, and a heap mor
