HOBOKEN, N.J. - Feb. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- The award-winning Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting Festival, welcomed more than one hundred waters from across the country and around the globe on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Held in the historic spa town of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, it is the largest water tasting competition in the world.

More than 100 people crowded The Country Inn in Berkeley Springs on Saturday night including water representatives from South Korea and Thailand. Ten media judges spent hours tasting and selecting from among nearly 100 waters sourced in 18 states, three Canadian provinces and 12 foreign countries. For the first time in the contest’s history, an African water was entered.  “Adding Tanzania gave use all five continents,” said Jeanne Mozier, an event founder.

Now in its 24rd year, the competition has attracted so many entries that judging is split over two days. This year, preliminary judging took place on 20 February, with the top 10 in each category moving on to the final judging on 22 February.
