Her contributions to society enrich lives through socially responsible architecture that advances healthcare and education. A visible role model and mentor, she is an advocate for diversity in architecture. Based out of the Los Angeles office of Perkins + Will, Bullock has been with the firm since 1988. In her role as one of the firm’s senior officers, she has played an integral role in shaping the culture and presence of the firm in Los Angeles. She has managed projects from their conceptual phases all the way through to construction. Her considerable and consistent body of work includes the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, LA County Harbor-UCLA Master Plan, City of Hope Beckman Research Institute, USC Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute, and the King Saud Bin Abdullaziz University for Health Sciences. Bullock has been a long-standing advocate for advancing diversity within the architecture profession and was recently named Perkins + Will first-ever Director of Global Diversity to lead the firm’s Global Diversity initiative. “In her current role as Director of Global Diversity for Perkins + Will, Gabrielle has instituted a start up program to embrace diversity into the culture of the firm’s global offices with a two-pronged goal of diversifying the make-up of design teams and creating culturally relevant design outcomes,” said Bullock’s sponsor Allison G. Williams, FAIA, LEED AP, NCARB, NOMA in her letter of support to elevate Bullock to the College of Fellows. The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
