More than 1,000 lots of highly collectible U.S. and worldwide banknotes, scripophily and security printing ephemera will be sold in an auction planned for Tuesday, March 11, by Archives International Auctions (www.archivesinternational.com).

FORT LEE, N.J. - Feb. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- (FORT LEE, N.J.) – More than 1,000 lots of rare and highly collectible U.S. and worldwide banknotes, scripophily and security printing ephemera will be sold in an auction planned for Tuesday, March 11, by Archives International Auctions, live at their offices in Fort Lee, and with live or absentee internet bidding (http://auction.archivesinternational.com/auctionlist.aspx) on their website, www.archivesinternational.com.

Offered will be additional selections from the Hamtramck Collection assembled by a career military officer over a 50-year period from the 1940s to the 1990s, to include worldwide banknotes, many of which are being sold for the first time in 30-50 years. Also being offered will be Part 1 of the impressive Scarsdale Collection (http://auction.archivesinternational.com/AIA-XVII-Auction-March-11-2013_as30967_p8)of post-1960 modern Africa high grade issues from many countries on the continent.

The auction will feature 600 lots of worldwide banknotes including 240 lots from the Scarsdale Collection of modern Africa; 30 lots from China, which will serve as a warm-up to Archives International Auctions’ sale slated for Saturday, April 12 in Hong Kong, China. There will also be more than 120 desirable notes in the U.S. session and over 300 lots of rare and attractive U.S. and foreign certificates in the scripophily session. “We are extremely excited about our upcoming auction schedule, especially with the widespread interest shown by collectors, dealers and investors alike,” said Dr. Robert Schwartz the president of Archives International Auctions. “Prices are breaking records everywhere, literally every day, and we look forward to intense competition for banknotes from practically all areas.”

Previews will be held starting Thursday, March 6, until the date of sale, March 11, by appointment. The April 12 auction in Hong Kong, China will include many rare and desirable banknotes seldom seen at auction. It will feature close to 400 lots of rare and interesting Chinese and Asian banknotes and coins. The late May auction (times and dates to be determined) will be held in the company’s Fort Lee offices and feature U.S and Worldwide banknotes, scripophily, historic documents and ephemera, coins and the balance of the Scarsdale Collection.

The March 11th event is the 17th auction for Archives International Auctions in its 8-year history, during which time the firm has become synonymous with quality auctions dedicated to U.S. and worldwide banknotes, scripophily, security printing ephemera, coins, historic documents and other numismatic ephemera.
