Bournecoast Shortlisted for Two Awards

Feb. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- The first nomination is for the South West Family Business of the Year 2014.

In addition, they have also been shortlisted for the Property & Construction Family Business of the Year Award too.

The Family Business of the Year Awards were created to celebrate the UK family business sector, to recognise the diversity of family firms across the country and to celebrate the contribution that they make.

Family Business United is a leading resource for the sector, championing the cause and sharing best practice. These awards seek to showcase the best of British family firms, culminating in an awards reception in London.

Des Simmons, Managing Director of Bournecoast said; “We are astounded to be shortlisted for such prestigious awards.  If we are successful, Bournecoast will automatically be nominated for the regional title which qualifies us for the national People’s Choice Award.”

The entry criteria is for family firms, irrespective of their size, that use their family nature and values to build successful businesses and represent great ambassadors for the sector as contenders for these awards.

In 2010 Bournecoast celebrated it’s 50^th anniversary and has been family run since it’s inception when it was established by Major & June Webb in 1960.  Keith Simmons MBE, the previous managing director and Major Webb’s son-in-law, was then joined by his son and daughters, Des Simmons, Veronica Strongman and Anita Smith, who now run the company with a team of eighteen staff.
