PRLog - Feb. 23, 2014 - ROSWELL, Ga. -- The annual Roswell event “Tea with Beatrix Potter” will once again take place on on the grounds of Barrington Hall on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. This eagerly anticipated springtime tradition features beloved children’s author “Beatrix Potter,” portrayed by Atlanta actress, Holly Stevenson, as she brings to life her friends Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Tom Kitten and other characters through captivating storytelling and puppet mastery.
In addition to Ms. Stevenson’s performance, the day will include games, a take-home craft, as well as a substantial afternoon tea. Scattered throughout the formal garden will be tableaus featuring Beatrix Potter’s tea settings; photo opportunities abound in the colorful setting. Visiting bunnies will also be available for petting and photo ops.
Holly Stevenson, a local actress, has performed one-woman shows for thousands of Atlanta schoolchildren. With her portrayal of Beatrix Potter, Stevenson developed a deep admiration for the British artist and storyteller, and cleverly introduces her audience to the charm and whimsical characters of Potter’s storybook English countryside.
Experiencing Stevenson’s Beatrix Potter persona against the backdrop of this antebellum home and garden is truly like a step back in time. Stevenson concurs, saying, “I feel very privileged to perform for young audiences and I love hearing their laughter and appreciation.”
Tickets for this event are $10 per person. Attendance is limited and reservations fill quickly. For tickets and information, call Barrington Hall at 770-640-3855
