PRLog - Feb. 21, 2014 - GREPPEN, Switzerland -- Maps and Chipper recounts the stories of three military recruits during the First World War, told in a manner that avoids the stereotypical image of the two sides of that war. This is primarily a book about ordinary people learning to cope in exceptional circumstances.
Maps and Chipper
An Army soldier named “Maps” Medlicott figures that being a pilot would be a better way to serve his country during the war than staying in the Army. Navy man “Chipper” McGraw steps into the wrong office and also ends up a flyer. Victoria is a friendly nurse who cares deeply for everyone, but loves no one.The misadventures of these three characters intertwine at a recruit training school in the early years of the war, and together they learn to survive the military. Learning to fly, however, does not always go as planned for the fly boys!
Their story is told in a light-hearted way in this delightfully entertaining novel.
