FitnessGiftCards.com To Provide Gyms with Fitness Business Cards as a Powerful Marketing Tool

Fitness marketing guru Curtis Mock explains how FitnessGiftcards.com has expanded to include fitness business cards for gyms and trainers. The cards will be similar to their existing gift cards, but designed in the style of business cards.

DENVER - Feb. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Curtis Mock, founder of FitnessGiftCards.com (a subsidiary of Fitness Marketing Group) has built his business around helping fitness industry businesses implement creative fitness marketing ideas.   He created Fitness Giftcards to repurpose an established idea in an irresistible package.   Now he’s advising his clients to do the same with their fitness business cards.

“Gyms have been offering free-trial passes since the dawn of time, in the form of Internet offers, postcards, and paper coupons,” says Mock.   “But they just are not redeemed as often as you’d think they’d be, because it’s easy for prospects to look right past another coupon or webpage offer.  However, if I gave that same prospect a plastic gift card for $100 at that same gym -- which coincidentally happens to be the same amount as that gym’s initiation fee and first month’s dues -- that same prospect is now much more likely to redeem the offer.  Now that’s a fitness business card, because it will drive some business!”

Because of the principle of perceived value in these particular plastic cards – which don’t require any actual “loaded” value as a traditional retail gift card would – Mock encourages his clients to stop using paper business cards and start using Fitness Giftcards as their new fitness business cards.   “Paper business cards are worthless.  It’s more likely to find their way to the recycle bin than they are to be kept any longer than a day or two,” explains Mock.  “But if you, as a gym owner or personal trainer, give everyone you meet a high quality plastic card with your name, business name, contact information and a dollar value on it, you can bet that little card will stay out of the garbage, and it is much more likely to bring you a qualified lead.”  Exactly what a business card is meant to do.

Mock isn’t too proud to admit that he didn’t come up with the idea to use Fitness Giftcards as a business card himself.  One of his regular clients ordered 1,000 cards one day that looked a little different than his normal order.  He asked the designer to incorporate his business card design on his normal order of cards, and he’s been using it ever since with great success.   He’s had such a great reception to them that he had to call Mock to tell him about it.  “He’s getting really good at giving them out, too,” says Mock.  “Anytime he’s in a conversation at a happy hour or party and someone even mentions the word fitness, business cards come out!”
