SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Feb. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- The Advanstar Automotive Group, a leading provider of integrated media solutions to the automotive aftermarket and collision repair industry, will celebrate the accomplishments of military veterans who work in the automotive service repair and collision industry with special editions of its May 2014 magazines. “Salute The Troops” will feature stories about military veterans and programs throughout the pages of Aftermarket Business World, Automotive Body Repair Network (ABRN) and Motor Age.

Mike Willins, content director, Advanstar Automotive Group, said the concept for military themed magazines was long overdue, given the connection between the automotive industry and the various branches of the military.

“Across the pages of our three publications we will share the stories of shop owners, distributors, technicians, suppliers and others who in one way or another are tightly connected to the military,” explained Willins. “Not only will we recognize individuals for the dedication and sacrifices they have made to give all of us a better life, we will deliver some entertaining features on military technology and business operations that we hope our readers will enjoy.”

This includes technical stories on the restoration of military vehicles, a story on job placement for returning troops and other special surprises. Willins said the military theme will also extend outside the pages of the magazine to include a May webinar on A/C systems led by Pete Meier, technical editor for Motor Age. The event is being produced with the help of MacDill Air Force Base in Florida and will originate from there.

In addition, the Advanstar Automotive Group’s “Salute The Troops” emphasis will share videos of active and former military personnel at the Group’s web portal at SearchAutoParts.com. Willins is encouraging readers to share their stories and goodwill initiatives involving active and former military veterans. To be included, contact Larry Silvey, director of special content, at lksilvey@att.net.
