ORLANDO, Fla. - Feb. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- SIMUL8 Corporation, developers of world leading simulation software, today host the 2nd annual Simulation in Healthcare Dinner at the 2014 Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference. The dinner will be attended by over 60 healthcare simulation professionals who will hear best practice talks from leading health systems and discuss the role process simulation can play in improving the future of healthcare.

The Simulation in Healthcare dinner is the highlight of a series of events developed by SIMUL8. The events run throughout the year and include online workshops on www.SIMUL8Healthcare.com and user groups with the aim of growing a community of simulation professionals in healthcare and expanding the awareness of the use of simulation to tackle current healthcare challenges.

In a recent survey of the Simulation in Healthcare Community 63% of respondents highlighted ‘gaining buy-in from colleagues and management’ as their biggest challenge. “As a new concept for some health systems simulation traditionally plays a relatively small part in the organization in contrast to the impact it can make,” said Claire Cordeaux, SIMUL8 Executive Director of Healthcare. “With these events we have created a community environment to help process simulation professionals connect, share knowledge, and learn from other health systems.”

SIMUL8 has led the way in improving healthcare with simulation for 20 years and has delivered cost savings and efficiency gains for major healthcare organizations across the world including Geisinger, Johns Hopkins, FUNSALUD, and the UK National Health Service. With high levels of uncertainty and continuous change, and where poor processes can affect patient outcomes, it is important to get any change to healthcare processes right first time. Simulation techniques allow users to test changes in a risk-free environment to identify and implement the best solution.

The next event in the series will be an online workshop looking at the use of simulation in bed-modeling. The workshop will take place on March 4th at 11 am Eastern. For more details on this and to become a part of the Simulation in Healthcare community please visit www.SIMUL8Healthcare.com.
