PRLog - Feb. 21, 2014 - During the European championship basketball games in the autumn of 2013 in Slovenia, Ljubljana, the popularity of basketball experienced an increase in Finland. It was during this time that Tampereen Pyrintö Division 1 women's coach, Roope Tähkä, contacted HappyOrNot regarding a potential sponsorship. The timing was perfect, as we had been looking to contribute to a social responsibility cause, and even though HappyOrNot is a startup company, we wanted to take part in something that had a good goal and positive message. Team Pyrintö´s has a target is to play in the women’s national league in a few years, which is a very bright opportunity as they have a strong hunger for success and determination to show the team's potential for growth. This drive clearly comes across on the court, as in the last ten games played this season, Pyrintö has only lost once.
We were eager to support Pyrintö basketball team because we could easily see their positive attitudes, determination, and team potential. Not to mention that they are from HappyOrNot's hometown! We have been delighted to share in great moments with the players, both on the court and from the audience. Pyrintö team held a very nice evening event for us at their home arena, first displaying the physical and technical skills of a basketball warm-up and then a training game against Tampereen Pyrintö, helping us to improve our own game. "During the first break, we were given very helpful tips which proved beneficial as we were able to keep a very exciting game right to the end. I look forward to more hilarious moments as spectators when Pyrintö goes to the playoffs!"- says Arvi Väänänen, Country Manager, HappyOrNot.
”The support to our operations from HappyOrNot has been vitally important. I am glad to see that there are still companies that, without prejudice, recognize other values than pure media value in their sponsoring decisions, thus enabling them to support other sports than only male professional sports. The involvement of HappyOrNot has also provided us better possibilities to develop our young future stars in their path towards being better players and responsible adults.
“Our cooperation with HappyOrNot has shown that true sponsorship can be much more than a company logo printed to jerseys if both parties are willing to build the relationship and keep the other party’s benefits in mind. At the same time, the cooperation has taught our young players how important it is to have all factors in an organization working towards the same goal when reaching success, and how good results can come when these things go as they should. I express my deepest gratitude towards HappyOrNot, and also to the other companies supporting our operations, for enabling our team to compete and succeed inside and outside of the basketball court,” tells Roope Tähkä, Coach, Tampereen Pyrintö.
