White House under fire for liberal policies, says AMAC

‘Dissatisfaction with the president’s performance goes far beyond healthcare and the economy’

WASHINGTON - Feb. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- The Obama administration has come under heavy fire in past days – much of it friendly fire – for its liberal economic and social policies.  “The biggest criticisms deal with White House programs that are having a negative impact on job creation, programs such as Obamacare,” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

The “government’s own bean counters” at the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office first reported that Obamacare will result in a loss of two to two-and-a-half million jobs in the years to come.  In a follow up report, the CBO then reported that President Obama’s proposed minimum wage hike will cost the country another half-million jobs.  And just the other day, the trade association for the medical device industry said that a new tax, courtesy of the Affordable Care Act, resulted in a loss of as many as 33,000 jobs last year.

“Of course, liberal surrogates came out in droves to deny the facts.  For example, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said emphatically that ‘there is absolutely no evidence, and every economist [except those at the CBO] will tell you this, that there is any job-loss related to the Affordable Care Act.’  In other words, if you like your job you can keep it,” Weber added.

The AMAC chief asserts that the dissatisfaction with the president’s performance goes far beyond healthcare and the economy.  “He gets poor grades across the board from friends and enemies alike.  You don’t get more liberal than Oliver Stone who recently called Mr. Obama a ‘weak man’ who lacks a ‘spine.’  Those were pretty harsh words from a member of the liberal elite,” Weber pointed out.

The view from abroad is enlightening, as well.  Famed freedom fighter Lech Walesa this week told a reporter that he’s become “disillusioned” by President Obama.  "When he was elected,” he said, “everyone hoped and expected that he would reform not only the United States but also the rest of the world. But he failed to implement any constructive reforms. Moreover, it seems like perhaps he doesn't even care if America is still perceived as the superpower it once was."

Weber said that Mr. Obama is our president and, “like it or not, it’s sad to see him suffer so much disrespect because of his wrong-headed approach to governance.  It’s sadder still to see our country’s image being tarnished in the eyes of the world because of the liberal elite’s flirtation with socialist, nanny state politics.  But, if you are fed-up to here by the left turn Washington has taken over the past five years, there’s still hope if voters in November send a clear message to the White House: straighten up and fly right.”
