A new video competitor - Snipesearch Video is here!

If your tired of the giants like YouTube then this might be a sight worth checking out.

BOREHAMWOOD, U.K. - Feb. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- As with most things these days the internet is saturated in all areas, and with hundreds if not thousands of new websites launching all the time; all offering the ‘best services online’ it hard to wade through and find the real gems. This is no different when it comes to finding a decent website to watch your favourite musical videos on. Of course there is the one giant we all think of the: YouTube, however, of late it feels like they have got too big for their booties and are ignoring what their users truly want.

Obviously we can all see the need for websites to make money through advertising, especially if we want them to maintain a certain quality of service. But when it comes to how advertising is conducted companies should always consider their users and their comfort to continue using the site without interruption and irritation. This is something YouTube seems to have lost sight of. Ads on their website is one thing but thousands of pre-role ads, some 30 minutes long, feels like there are taking it to far. It also seems like a poor way to advertise as it has become a running joke, even with advertisers themselves, that people ignore what’s being advertised and just skip as soon as they can. So really how effective is this? And why is this still considered a good way to advertise. In my eyes it seems poorly thought out.

Then on top of that YouTube choses to force everyone to use Google + to comment making them use their real names is really just ridiculous. It is a blind, unashamed attempt to force users onto Google +, as the launch of their social media site, let’s face it, failed miserably. All this leaves me looking for somewhere else that I can sit back and relax and just watch some videos without being irritated and that is how I found Snipesearch Video.

I really like this website, the thing that really attracted me in the first place, and has kept me coming back to it, is when you search for a new video you can continue viewing the video your already on, the new search results just load underneath the video that’s playing. I love this, as it overlooked on most video websites, it really simple but makes it easier to line up music and sit a show friends stuff you want to watch. Plus no more accidently hitting enter and losing the video you are watching; which happens a lot to me when using YouTube, either that or I end up with a hundred tabs open.

As I have used Snipesearch Video more I have also noticed they have no pre-role ads or post-role ads, which I think is awesome. They have advertisements but the majority of them are just text ads on the search page. They are pretty non-intrusive, so they don’t distract you when viewing your videos. Something else I think really works it the simplicity of the site. The page isn’t overloaded with text and buttons, it is for the most part a simple white, black and green colour scheme which makes it a lot nicer to look at and help makes it user friendly.

The final thing that is worth a mention is the search accuracy. So many sites I have tried have an awful search facility, it either doesn’t work or it brings up something completely unrelated. When using Snipesearch Video though I have always had accurate results and haven’t yet had an incident where I have searched for something and it has yielded no results. Overall I think this site has been pretty great and I know I will continue using it. If you would like to check it out at go to: http://www.snipesearch.co.uk/video .
