Living with Teens - Course for Carers and Parents

GOSFORD, Australia - Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Central Coast Community College have teamed up with Uniting Care Burnside’s Reconnecting Adolescents and Parents team to run a course aimed at helping families cope with challenging teenagers.

The free course aims to provide ideas and strategies to help parents, grandparents and carers communicate with their teenage charges.

The one day workshop focuses on issues that can affect teenagers and the way they behave, and the challenges faced by both teenagers and parents alike.

Central Coast Community College Executive Director, Jonathan Davis said “The Adolescents and Parents team at United Care Burnside are very experienced in family matters, and we are very proud to be associated with them.

“This Program is a must for anyone with a teenager, who may feel that they are swimming in unchartered waters.

“Adolescent development, communication with teenagers and boundary setting and consequences are all covered in this course”, Mr Davis said.

The Living with Teens course also provides information on what to expect as your teenager gets older.

“This really is a very informative course about teenagers and their world, and as it is free, really shouldn’t be missed” Mr Davis said.

Living with Teens will be held at Central Coast Community College’s Ourimbah Campus on Saturday 29 March.

Bookings are essential for this course. For more information or to enrol contact Central Coast Community College on 4348 4300 or www.cccc.nsw.edu.au
