Hall-DeBaun Lighting was originally launched in 1909, by Mr. Hall and Mr. DeBaun, who partnered in a small showroom on 4th Street in downtown Los Angeles, California. The two budding artisans fabricated finely made chandeliers with Czechoslovakian crystal, historically defined outdoor lanterns, torcheres, pendants and wall sconces in their initial offering. When Mr. Bonnenberger joined the owners, his frameable hand drawn renderings of light fixtures were commissioned by the likes of Jean Harlow, Mary Pickford, Buddy Rogers and Joe E. Brown.
In 1976, the company incorporated and moved to San Marino, California, with the factory also transplanting to nearby Alhambra. At this location, the company continued it's growth by expanding into showrooms throughout the country while continuing to service the Los Angeles trade by producing one-of-a-kind lighting designs. The first color catalog was introduced in 1982 and DeBaun Lighting Company Incorporated, as the business was thusly named, were commissioned to do the lighting for Giorgio's of Beverly Hills, the Century City office of Marvin Davis, the Pasadena Wrigley Mansion and the Pasadena Huntington Sheraton Hotel, to name just a few.
