Bay Area’s Pi Wen Looi of Novacrea Joins Judging Panel of First-Ever Employee Engagement Hackathon

Nearly 100 professionals from diverse fields will gather at the Autodesk Gallery on February 28 to create innovative solutions to improve employee engagement throughout the employment life cycle.
 
SAN FRANCISCO - Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Pi Wen Looi, PhD., Founder and President of Novacrea Research Consulting, will join a panel of blue-ribbon judges to judge the first-ever employee engagement hackathon, Hack The Experience, February 28, 2014, at the Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco, CA.

“This is a very exciting event for people who are passionate about employee engagement to come together and find creative solutions to energize employees. I’m honored to serve on the judging panel and design the scoring protocol,” said Looi.

The panel of judges includes:

Hack the Experience was developed by Brilliant Ink and will be hosted by some of the Bay Area’s leading professional organizations, including the International Association of Business Communicators' (IABC) San Francisco chapter, American Society for Training & Development's (ASTD) Golden Gate chapter, South Bay Organization Development Network (SBODN), and Net Impact. Hack the Experience is specifically designed for professionals across the spectrum of employee engagement, including communicators, HR professionals, corporate trainers, CSR professionals, academics/students, creative thinkers, independent consultants, and partners.

Up to 100 participants will be divided into interdisciplinary teams to develop solutions for a pre-defined set of employee engagement challenges. At the end of the day, participants will present their solutions to the rest of the audience and a panel of blue-ribbon judges.

Prizes will be awarded to winners, and key findings will be summarized and publicized among the business community and throughout host organizations' respective memberships. In addition to partner hosting organizations, Hack the Experience is supported by event sponsors, including Autodesk , The Difference Consulting, and Depth of Field Media.

About the Judge

Pi Wen Looi, PhD., is the Founder and President of Novacrea Research Consulting. She is an expert in employee engagement, employee survey methodology, and meeting facilitation. She consults with and advises senior leaders on talent management issues. Many of her clients come to her to revitalize their employee survey efforts after several years of stagnation. She is focused on helping her clients build employee trust and bring their surveys to a success. Prior to founding Novacrea, she led Hewitt Associates’ Global Best Employers study and consulted with clients on various employee engagement challenges. A published author and a conference speaker, Pi Wen earned her PhD and master’s degrees in applied quantitative psychology from Ohio University and her B.S. in mathematics from the National University of Singapore. She’s a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and a Board Member of the ASTD Golden Gate Chapter.
