TAMPA, Fla. - Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- The Tampa Bay Pet Expo is just around the corner! From 10am to 6pm on Saturday, March 8, 2014, attendees can once again enjoy spending a fun-filled and educational day with their best pet friend. This free, indoor and air-conditioned event attracts nearly 10,000 attendees along with their furry, feathered and reptilian pals who are looking to enjoy a day of live entertainment, education, exciting contests and all kinds of pet-friendly demonstrations.  Admission is free to the public for this annual don’t miss event and parking is $6 at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Linda Blair, star of The Exorcist and founder of The Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, will make an appearance at the event to raise awareness for her WorldHeart Foundation.  Blair will be available for pictures and autographs throughout the day.  She will make two presentations from the Entertainment Stage and will promote the work of her foundation.  The Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation works to fight animal cruelty by educating the public, through animal rescue, and finding loving families to give the animals a second chance at a happy life. The organization was founded by Oscar nominated and renown animal activist Linda Blair to bring attention to the growing problems related to animal welfare and the work required to stop animal abuse and neglect.  LBWHF is a unique safe haven for animals providing top-quality, lifelong care to the animals it rescues.  The organization emphasizes proper nutrition, provides first-class veterinary care, comfortable facilities, training, socialization, and an abundance of love.

If you are looking to add a pet to your family, a major highlight of the Tampa Bay Pet Expo is the Mega-Adoption Area, featuring hundreds of adoptable pets. Patti Welch, Vice President of Marketing, PR and Sponsorship explains, “The Mega-Adoption Area is always a very popular element of our shows. Nothing compares to seeing the connection between someone and their new forever pet friend.” As always, dozens of rescue groups will be on hand to answer your questions and help ensure that you find the pet that could be the very best fit for your unique family

Welch adds, “There are so many pet-friendly resources available to pet lovers and owners in their communities and our goal is to help get that information out there. Plus, people have few options that allow them to spend a day bonding with their pet in an indoor environment where it’s all about the pets. This is a fun-filled, pet-friendly day for pet owners – or those who’d like to be!”

You won’t want to miss a minute of the live entertainment and demonstrations going on all day on multiple stages as well as the Swift Paws Lure Chasing Course.   You can register your pet friend to take part in popular competitions such as the costume contest, talent contest or pet/owner musical chairs with awesome prizes from exhibitors that will be on site all day.

As always, pets are welcome to attend the event, as long as they’re on a fixed lead and have proof of age-appropriate rabies vaccines. If your pet is not up-to-date, don’t worry! There will be discounted vaccinations and low-cost micro chipping available thanks to TLC PetSnip, Inc. and attendees can even take advantage of free nail trims.

The Tampa Bay Pet Expo is organized by Amazing Expos, which currently produces more than 40 pet expos around the country; all of them indoors and free to the general public.
