Frontera is a leading provider of mobile cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, and neurological testing services. The company, with headquarters in Irving, Texas, and offices across Texas and Oklahoma, partners with more than 1,500 physicians across those two states to provide convenient and profitable healthcare solutions.
Richard Baker, a Frontera co-founder, said the now 13-year-old company embarked on a program in 2011 to help the company and its employees achieve their potential and develop a positive company culture that would power the company to more than double its annual revenues within three years.
"We recognized we were not getting the most out of our business and needed to do something," Baker said. "We set out to focus on creating a culture of accountability, purpose, and profit."
Those efforts were designed to encourage employees to adopt a heightened sense of ownership in the company – with profit sharing as an incentive – and to implement a business model that would align and synchronize elements of the business to achieve the desired results.
Seeing the success of both of those initiatives, Frontera worked with Mark Fenner of Rise Performance Group to embrace a leadership development program aimed at elevating the leadership skills of the executive team, managers, and individual contributors. Its goal is to create strong leaders at every level of the company.
The foundation of the leadership improvement program is Rise Performance Group's Leadership 360 Competency Survey. This all-around leadership assessment system uses self-evaluation and feedback from both subordinates and managers to provide a comprehensive measurement of an individual's leadership skills. A customized leadership development program can then be established based on the individual's strengths and gaps.
"We are looking to the Rise Performance Group program to develop leaders here at Frontera who can understand and leverage their ability and potential," Baker said. " We have implemented some very strong programs, and the missing link until now was the ability to develop leaders who can execute these programs effectively."
"Frontera is a company that thrives on a proactive culture, with engaged leaders," said Fenner, president of Rise Performance Group. "That is why the Leadership Development Program program is such a good choice for them. It helps to develop both the skills and mindsets within their leadership team that equips them to set new standards for customer service, execution and performance
"Their culture will be enhanced by every employee recognizing that leadership growth and improvement are recognized and rewarded."
