Aurion Learning Secures Two Spots on 2014 IITD Awards Shortlist

BELFAST, U.K. - Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Aurion Learning continues to be recognised as a leading provider of learning technology solutions, with the announcement that two of their client projects have been honoured on the shortlist at this year’s IITD National Training and Development Awards (http://www.iitd.ie/EventsNetworking/NationalTrainingAwards.aspx).

In partnership with Aurion Learning, HSELanD.ie (http://www.hseland.ie/tohm/default.asp); the Health Service Executive’s (HSE) online learning and development portal and Derry City Council’s (http://dcc.auriondemo.com/) Good Relations and Diversity online learning programme, have been selected as finalists for Most Innovative Use of Technology. The categoryrecognises the creative, unique and resourceful use of technology in a training programme.

HSELanD.ie provides a central source of high quality online training, learning and development to over 100,000 healthcare professionals within the HSE, health care and voluntary organisations throughout Ireland. Configured and developed in partnership with Aurion Learning, the online portal provides healthcare staff access to over 100 E-Learning programmes, a PDP workbook, 360 degree competency assessment and 11 collaborative learning hubs to facilitate knowledge sharing between multidisciplinary groups.

With rapid timescales for development, Aurion Learning worked with the Community Relations team at Derry City Council to design and develop a bespoke solution as part of a wider blended approach.  The E-Learning programme contained over 90 minutes of Good Relations and Diversity tailor-made learning content.  It included interactive practical work-based activities within a local context to ensure that council staff related to the content and made the connections between diversity in the workplace.

The IITD National Training Awards celebrate excellence in learning and development of both individuals and organisations.

The recent award nominations add to a growing list of accolades for the online learning company, who won a prestigious Gold Brandon Hall Award in 2013 for Best in Learning Technology Implementations.  This is also the second time that the two projects have been recognised collectively, having been shortlisted for excellence in E-Learning and Education at the eircom Spiders (http://www.eircomspiders.ie/about_us.php) Awards 2013.

Winners of the 2014 IITD Awards will be announced on Friday 7th March 2014 at Killashee House Hotel, Naas.
