VENTURA, Calif. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Gabriele Lashly, one of the Ventura business lawyers at Slaughter & Reagan, LLP, has been reaching one professional achievement after another. She has been chosen for inclusion in Los Angeles’ Women Leaders in the Law for the year of 2014, representing the second year in a row that she has received this honor. In addition to this professional accolade, she was also recently nominated for the second year in a row by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA) as one of the Top 100 Appellate Lawyers in the state of California. Furthermore, she had an article published in CITATIONS magazine in recent months.

According to information provided on Law.com (an ALM Media Properties website), Los Angeles’ Women Leaders in the Law is an annual ALM publication that honors top female attorneys in the Los Angeles area. In this publication, ALM partners with the Los Angeles Times to features these leaders in law. Attorney Lashly is proud to have been recognized as woman who is a difference-maker in Los Angeles’s legal arena.

Through her nomination as one of the Top 100 Appellate Lawyers, Attorney Lashly received recognition from a respected national organization—the American Society of Legal Advocates. This follows her selection by the organization as a Top 100 Appellate Lawyer for the year of 2013. According to ASLA’s website, this invitation-only organization considers tens of thousands of attorneys across the United States before determining which legal professionals qualify for recognition as top lawyers in their states and specialty areas. Less than 1.5% of attorneys are selected each year. The lawyers are selected based on factors such as legal achievements, educational accomplishments, community involvement, leadership and involvement in professional organizations, etc.

In addition to these two professional milestones, Attorney Lashly also wrote an article that was published in the December 2013 issue of CITATIONS (http://www.vcba.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Dec_Web-2013.pdf), a monthly magazine published by the Ventura County Bar Association. Her article, titled “No more company holiday parties?”, appeared on page 11 of the publication. The article discussed an appellate court decision that broadens employer liability when it comes to company-sponsored parties that provide employees with alcohol.

Attorney Lashly, who is a native of Germany, became a California-certified specialist in appellate law in 2003. She was admitted to practice law in California in 1992 after moving to California. Before joining the legal team at Slaughter & Reagan, she spent more than 12 years handling writs and appeals for another law firm in Ventura. In addition to handling more than 100 California Court of Appeals cases, Ms. Lashly also made appearances before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court.
