NAWBO of South Jersey Announces the Winner of the Feed Your Hunger Contest

VOORHEES, N.J. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) of South Jersey is excited to announce the winner for their Feed Your Hunger video contest: Helena Duzenski, co-owner of Evolution Fitness in Cherry Hill, NJ and member of NAWBO South Jersey.   In second place is her business partner and fellow NAWBO member, Danielle Kane.  The third place winner is Marilyn Eppolite, member of NAWBO SJ and owner of The Wisdom Within.

The theme of the Feed Your Hunger contest was inspired by the keynote speaker for the upcoming 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala, Dr. Robin Smith, national television personality, best-selling author, and licensed psychologist.  It challenged the women of South Jersey to answer this question, “What are you hungry for?”  Dr. Robin Smith has courageously chronicled her own experiences with being emotionally and spiritually hungry in her groundbreaking book, Hungry: The Truth About Being Full, released last February, 2013.

“I am so proud of all the Feed Your Hunger contestants," exclaimed Angela Venti, president of NAWBO South Jersey.   “It took a lot of courage to put themselves out there like that.  I am also proud of the wonderful responses the women received, the way they were embraced by the community. “

As the winner, Helena Duzenski received a free VIP ticket to the Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala, a signed copy of Dr. Robin Smith’s book, a free ticket to an upcoming event with Aldonna Ambler in March, and one-on-one time with an expert to help her feed her hunger.  “I am so thankful to everyone who viewed the video submissions and voted,” said Helena when she found out she won the contest.  “The response that I received was really heart-warming.  Everyone was so compassionate and generous, many confiding to me that they, too, have felt similarly.  I want to thank NAWBO for holding this contest and challenging me to speak my truth to the community.  It has been a truly rewarding and freeing experience.”

About the 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala

The 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala, hosted by NAWBO of South Jersey, is a dinner program that honors extraordinary individuals for their contributions to women and women business owners. It will be held at The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ.  In recent years, the event has drawn around 300 attendees, mostly business women and men from the South Jersey region who come to honor the nominees, network, enjoy a great night out, and be inspired by the keynote’s address.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to One Year of NAWBO, a grant that offers a one-year, all-expenses paid membership to NAWBO to a woman who has recently lost significant financial support due to the death, disability, divorce, or separation of a spouse.  The rest of the proceeds will be set aside for NAWBO of South Jersey’s educational events, lectures, grants, and seminars, which are open to members and non-members alike.  NAWBO of South Jersey is a not-for-profit organization.

About Dr. Robin Smith

Dr. Robin L.
