LITCHFIELD, Conn. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- In this workshop Patricia Lapidus will provide writing techniques and inspiration for writing memorable memoirs.  Patricia will demonstrate how there are many models for looking at our progress through the years by using the stage of growth commonly used in ancient fairy tales.  She will start the hour off with an overview of these stages that include innocent, orphan, martyr, warrior, wanderer and magician.  Participants will have time for sharing pieces written in the workshop - with an opportunity to offer support to one another.  Please bring writing materials.

Patricia Mitchell Lapidus is the author of four books including Sweet Potato Suppers: A Yankee Woman Finds Salvation in a Hippie Village, a memoir about life in a community of spiritual hippies, Gideon’s River, a novel about family relationships, Swamp Walking Woman, a modern mythic fairy tale, and Red Hen’s Daughter, a book of poems about farming life in the 1950’s and the transition to modern living.  She has published poems in a number of literary magazines including Green Hills Literary Lantern, Off the Coast and Peregrine.  Patricia earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English from the University of Maine.  Patricia lives in Bantam, Connecticut.  Visit her website at swampwalkingwoman.blogspot.com.
