"Islamic Awakening" - a 3/31/14 FREE World Affairs Forum Event

STAMFORD, Conn. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The public is invited to attend a World Affairs Forum Great Decisions event featuring Dr. John P. Entelis, who will speak on “Islamic Awakening” at the Greenwich Library on March 31, 2014 at 7 PM.

John Entelis is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Middle East Studies Program at Fordham University. Professor Entelis is a media commentator on ABC Network News, CBS Network News, Newshour and CNN International. He has lectured widely both in the United States and abroad to university, government, business and community groups under the sponsorship of private, academic and governmental institutions. In addition, he has authored many articles and book reviews in scholarly journals in the fields of political science, international relations, Middle Eastern affairs and North African studies and is co-editor of The Journal of North African Studies.

Professor Entelis is a member of many organizations and boards, including Fellows of the Tangier American Legation Museum Society, the Editorial Board of the Rhodes Fulbright International Library, the Board of Directors of the American Institute for Maghrib Studies, Academic Associate of the Atlantic Council of the United States, the Board of Advisory Editors of Middle East Affairs Journal, Associate Editor of Middle East Studies Association Bulletin, and an invited participant in several discussion groups of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Lehrman Institute, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and others.

Professor Entelis holds a BA (Ohio Wesleyan University) MA and PhD (both from New York University) in Political Science. He has been awarded several Fulbright awards and has earned Summer Certificates in Arabic Language Study from American University, Cairo, Egypt and NDEA National Defense Foreign Language Fellowships, from Harvard University and Princeton University.
