The National Association of Corporate Directors -Colorado Announces Scholarship

Winners Look Forward to Director Education Opportunities in 2014

Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- DENVER (Feb. 18, 2014) – The Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced the winners of its 2014 Scholarship Program:

Brad Elliott, Vice President in Wells Fargo’s team of regional commercial bankers, received a scholarship to attend the NACD Professionalism course leading to becoming a Board Governance Fellow. In 2012, Mr. Elliott was elected to the Board of the Peak-to-Peak Charter School and also joined the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, Sous-Commanderie of Denver. From 2010 to 2012, he was on the board of the Denver chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. From 2008 to 2009, he served on the Advisory Board for the Denver Venture School. Mr. Elliott holds an MBA from the University of Colorado in Boulder, and a degree in biomedical engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Peter Durante, currently Chairman of the Board at HSS, Inc., a privately held security firm with headquarters in Denver and offices in 16 states, received a scholarship to attend the NACD Master Class leading to becoming a Board Leadership Fellow. Mr. Durante serves on the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Compliance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee for HSS. In addition, he is Chairman of the Board of Transtrachael Systems and OxyView, both privately held medical device companies. He holds a Master of Tax Laws Degree from the Daniels School of Business, a JD from the Sturm College of Law, an MBA from Regis University, and a BS in Marketing from Colorado State University.

Rick Hurwitz received a scholarship to attend the NACD Professionalism course leading to becoming a Board Governance Fellow. Mr. Hurwitz previously served as CEO and Board Chairman for Pictometry International. He currently serves as a Director on the boards of Manning & Napier  and Symbility Solutions (TSX.V: SY). Mr. Hurwitz graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rochester and holds BA degrees in Economics and Philosophy.
