Magic Johnson announces partnership with Operation People for Peace

PENSACOLA, Fla. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The event “Magic Johnson Speaks to the Heart of the Community” in Pensacola, Florida drew a crowd of over 4,000 attendees to the Maritime Park on President’s Day, Feb. 17, 2014.  As he addressed the crowd, Magic Johnson announced a partnership with Operation People for Peace ’s (OPFP) Founder and Chairman Art Rocker who is also State Chairman of Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) because of the work he has performed and his commitment to the masses of people that are underserved and underrepresented.

Rocker and Johnson stated that one of the 2014 goals for OPFP is to serve the needs of the underserved population’s uninsured and underinsured in America with affordable options for test for pre-deposed health issues starting in Pensacola, FL.  Rocker said, “This is a great partnership with Magic Johnson’s Foundation. We will continue to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, preach positivity to those that have lost hope, and continue to wake up America for the issues related to the masses of the poor populations and all of those who are voiceless and underserved.”

Magic Johnson gave an initial contribution of $50,000.00 to OPFP and he requested that business’s and others to donate to this worthy organization.  Rocker and the crowd chanted “Magic, Magic, Magic!” as Magic Johnson entered the field of the stadium.  OPFP has over 500,000 members and is still growing throughout America.
