LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) today honored teams from Sprint and The Procter & Gamble Company as winners of the fourth annual Global Excellence in Outsourcing (GEO) award. The Sprint team has received the award for the best practices category and The Procter & Gamble team has received the award for the innovation category.

Both teams were honored at a luncheon ceremony today attended by more than 800 outsourcing professionals during IAOP’s 2014 annual conference, The Outsourcing World Summit®.

IAOP started the award program to distinguish outsourcing professional teams at customer organizations who have advanced the field’s best practices, created innovative solutions and delivered great results for their companies.

"It's because of teams like these that this industry continues to evolve and grow," said IAOP CEO Debi Hamill. "We're pleased to honor these teams for their work creating the roadmap to success. They have elevated the bar of excellence."

Sprint won in the Best Practices category for Device Lifecycle Quality. Sprint’s Device Business Unit   has created a multi-supplier eco-system in one of the most competitive international industries – mobile devices and operators. Outsourcing works best when both parties stand to benefit from the effort. Sprint has developed a simple, effective, and cost-efficient device lifecycle quality approach that saves all parties involved millions of dollars. Sprint is considered a leader in the device quality lifecycle management and they have set a clear example that other companies should adopt and from which they can easily benefit.

Individuals accepting the award on behalf of the Sprint Team include: Donna Schnorf, Manager; Sean Heston, COP, Senior Manager; and Gene Agee, Vice President.

The Procter & Gamble Company won in the Innovation category for Global Business Services, Facilities & Real Estate in services that can be derived from strategic alliances in outsourcing – as shown with their partnership with Jones Lang LaSalle; having built an Innovation Program that successfully delivers impactful innovations year after year. One of the most critical attributes is a structured gate process. The process the Innovation Program uses is best described as a pipeline where ideas go through a conversion process all the way through implementation.

“The GEO Award has generated so much excitement because it recognizes people not companies,” said Bill Hall, Partner, Pretium Partners and Chair of IAOP’s Membership Committee. “More specifically, it recognizes teams of people for producing outstanding achievements for their companies through outsourcing. Having the opportunity to study all the nominations, I’m reminded of the complexity, creativity and effort put forth to produce such excellent business outcomes for their companies.”

Accepting the award on behalf of the The Procter & Gamble Company Team is Larry Bridge, P&G F&RE Global Governance Leader.
