Nigeria-Italy International SME Forum

MILANO, Italy - Feb. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- From April 24 to 25, 2014 the Nigeria-Italy International SME Forum will hold at Four Points Sheraton Milan Center, Via Gerolamo Cardano 1, 20124 Milan, Italy.  The forum is an event to explore business opportunities between Nigeria and Italy.  Before the main event in Milan, a formal launch shall be held in Lagos, Nigeria, on March 27, 2014.  This networking event is organized by Live Your Dream Productions in partnership with the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME).  To participate, requests should be sent by email to doziedavid@yahoo.com or by sms to +234-808-965-1252.

SMEs form the backbone of most economies today.  Their contribution to overall economic growth has been increasing rapidly.  Creating a facilitative business environment remains crucial to strengthening economic recovery, stimulating growth and providing jobs in both countries.  This forum will present a marketplace for small and medium enterprises from each of the two countries to pursue trade and investment prospects of bilateral relations.

Objectives

The objectives of the forum are as follows:

a)    To increase bilateral trade and investment with particular emphasis on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) between Nigeria and Italy.

b)    To explore the opportunities for Nigerian SMEs in their various industries within the European market.

c)    To enter into strategic business alliances with counterparts in the engaging country.

d)    To promote technological advancement and business innovation.

e)    To facilitate capacity building among the SMEs of Nigeria and Italy.

Milan

Milan is the second-most populous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Italy_by_p...) city in Italy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy) and the capital of Lombardy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lombardy).  It is the main industrial, commercial and financial centre of Italy and a leading global city (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_city).  Its business district hosts the Borsa Italiana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borsa_Italiana) (Italy's main stock exchange) and the headquarters of the largest national banks and companies.  The city is also an important manufacturing centre, especially for the automotive industry.  Other important products made in Milan include chemicals, machinery, pharmaceuticals and plastics.  Some key sectors in the city's economy are advanced research in health and biotechnologies, chemicals and engineering, banking and finance.

Visa Processing

Registered participants who require travel visas for this purpose shall be assisted.  Letters of Invitation shall be provided and the visas will be applied for at the VFS Global Office in Lagos or Abuja, Nigeria.
