Follow on Google News | Adelphi University Presents Warren Lyons: Of Human Feelings Starting January 29Of Human Feelings is a suite of portraits of historical figures that have had a profound influence in the ongoing struggle for equal rights and justice for all. The exhibition features 11 portraits ranging from Abraham Lincoln to a young Malcom X. The artist reverently captures the likenesses of these individuals through his wrought precision. Lyons states, “The intense concentration and passion invested in the creative process imbues each portrait with dynamism and sense of presence”. Warren Lyons was born into an artistic family in Brooklyn, NY. During his years at Adelphi University, he first pursued a degree in psychology however his interest in art was reawakened, and under the tutelage of Professor Richard Vaux he completed a degree in Fine Arts in 1973. In 1985, Mr. Lyons completed graduate studies at the Hunter College School of Social Work, and thereafter, pursued post-graduate training en route to a career as a clinical social worker and a practicing psychotherapist. His ongoing love for both art and psychology is intrinsically meshed within his artwork.
