Bora Health Enjoying Global Success with Operations in Three Continents…

SYDNEY - Feb. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Bora Health Co-Founder Joel Groth today discussed the huge benefits the business is seeing since launching its network into Europe, and provides an update on the latest position of when the Bora Health products and services will be available in the United States.

In March 2012, Community interest company Bora Health Pty Ltd announced the launch of a website to raise awareness of the increasing challenge facing an ageing population of maintaining affordable, independent living by sharing information and solutions for people of all financial means. Since then, through building effective partnerships across the industry, both commercial and non-financial, Bora Health is now a leading network for seniors, and representing organizations, to discover more about independent living.

Since then Bora Health has gone from strength to strength and is the exclusive approved personal alarm supplier to ASX listed aged care residential homes company Eureka Group Holdings Ltd. Bora Health also provides lifesaving personal alarms to numerous hospitals and Government facilities including pathology units and drug and alcohol outreach programs. This is in addition to thousands of satisfied consumers and their families, who have peace of mind knowing that help is just a push of a button away on their SureSafe personal alarm.

So what next?

Joel Groth, Co-Founder of Bora Health, explains that the progress made since early 2012 has been staggering. “We thought that there were people in need of help when we came up with the concept”. Bora Health came into existence following the difficulties Groth faced when caring for his grandmother after the passing of his grandfather. “There was very little information out there, and it was very difficult to know where to turn” Groth said. “Also, grandma did not have much money so we found most of the products and services advertised were way out of budget. I thought this was a really unfair way to be treating our parents and grandparents, and something needed to be done”.

Bora Health aims to promote inexpensive and easy-to-use products and services to a problem that more and more families – including Joel’s – are experiencing: striking the right balance between helping elderly relatives and friends maintain freedom and independence, while making sure these solutions are available for all, not just those that can afford it. It turned out that the problem wasn’t only an Australian one, with many other westernised countries facing similar challenges.

Since then Bora Health has launched in the United Kingdom and the early signs are very good, with sales of the SureSafe personal alarm in the UK outstripping the Australian business over the first three months. “We were optimistic with the UK, but we never knew how big the demand was. We are proud to now be providing solutions and helping lives in the UK as well”.  And what of being a global player in the healthcare market? “It really is a small world, for example we took a call from an existing customer in Perth who had family in the UK. They asked whether our Australian personal alarm would work in the UK and I told her we could go one better and gave her the contact details for one of our UK service team. Low and behold we received a call in our UK office the very next day and we now have our first global referral – word of mouth spread 10,500 miles!”

With the Australia and UK now well underway, work on opening a US operation is already happening – “we have the website up and running already, we thought it was important to start sharing valuable information with the American population even if we weren’t ready to launch our product range” Joel advised. “With it being a highly competitive and regulated market we are aiming for a Q3 launch of our flagship personal alarm product – we’re working through the final stages now. Exciting times ahead for the Bora Health Group, and the senior generation in the US”.
