“For the past 17 years, the Long Island Dental Forum has strived to be a premier educational and social experience” Dr. Farber said. “Through our affiliation with the Seattle Study Club, we have been able to bring the dentists in Long Island the finest in programming, creating what the Seattle Study Club calls a ‘University Without Walls’ for our members.”
The Long Island Dental Forum provides members with opportunities to network with their peers, share knowledge, and present and evaluate clinical cases. “Our members have impressive experience in dentistry,” Dr. Farber said. “However, the best dentists know that there are usually many ways to treatment plan a case. Our study club gives outstanding dentists in the community a forum for exchanging ideas and staying on the leading edge of dentistry so we can provide the best possible care for our patients.”
Dr. Farber noted that he shares the award with his study club coordinator, Marcy Sharp, and all members of the Long Island Dental Forum. “As a periodontist with a particular interest in dental implants,” Dr. Farber said, “I know first-hand the importance of team work. We all work together to increase our understanding of interdisciplinary dentistry for the benefit of the patient. In fact, when people contact our office looking for a quality dentist to do procedures that are not performed in my specialty office, we are always willing to refer those patients to excellent dentists.”
In addition to his duties with the Long Island Dental Forum, Dr. Farber is Director of the ITI Study Club of Long Island; Leader of a Spear Study Club; Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Periodontics, SUNY at Stony Brook Dental School; and he is a Past President Suffolk County Dental Society.
