Oakville's AlaNar Dance Troupe burns up the stage placing 1st in National Bellydance Competition

OAKVILLE, Ontario - Feb. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- BellyUpBellyDance Studio’s “Ala Nar” Dance Company won top prize for Best Canadian Star Bellydance Troupe at the first-ever Bellydance competition of its kind, held in Downtown Toronto on February 9th. BellyUp’s “Ala Nar” dance troupe competed against six other Egyptian dance troupes in Canada and is delighted about their first prize win.  Joharah Kolishenco, Artistic Director for “Ala Nar” and BellyUp founder, created a fast-paced and technically challenging Oriental choreography for the company to perform at the competition.  The choreography played to her dancer’s strong technical skills and performance prowess.  Ala Nar has become known for their high standard of Egyptian dance technique, synchronization abilities and passion for Bellydance.
