Still Point Art Gallery Exhibits Landscapes by Day and Night

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Feb. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Still Point Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its virtual exhibition, Landscapes by Day - Landscapes by Night. Gallery director, Christine Cote, says she wanted to do a show featuring landscapes and decided to add the idea of nighttime landscapes after visiting a gallery exhibition of nighttime images.

The exhibition shows the work of thirty artists from around the world; over one hundred paintings, photographs, and mixed media pieces. Five artists received special recognition. Bob Avakian of Massachusetts was awarded Best in Show-Portfolio for his collection of eight stunning images. Dave Clough of Maine was awarded Best in Show-Single Image for his photograph, Rockland.

In addition, Claire Anderson, from Florida won the award for Best Photograph for her photograph, West Virginia Barn. Leslie Anderson of Maine won Best Painting for her paired works, Bayside Morning and Bayside Evening. Matthew Derezinski of Missouri won Best Digital Art for his piece Misplaced Memories.

Landscapes by Day - Landscapes by Night is featured in the spring 2014 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly.  It remains a featured online exhibition through April 30, 2014.
