Are Mobile Websites Just Snake Oil?

Yes folks, when making a presentation of the benefits of a Mobile Phone I often get the feeling that those I’m presenting to think I’m selling Snake Oil.

Why? Well they ask a question and I give the answer, the question being, “Will this mobile site really be the single thing that can improve my business” the answer being, “Yes” talk about opening up a hornets nest of doubt, you would think I had just cracked open a bottle of snake oil and anything I say and do after this moment will be used on me in a court of Law.

You see I make the, “Yes” reply so fast, I don’t hesitate and it just fly’s out of my mouth, maybe I should sit back, take a long deep breath, roll my eyes back and forth, flip through some papers, tap the calculator a few times to add some padding to me answer, maybe that would make people more comfortable, but hello the math doesn’t lie so I just let them have it.

The math? Well the Math, the stats tell me that over 76% of people search for a product or service using a Mobile Phone, the math tells me that over 40% of those searches end up contacting the business and not much less than that actually do business.

The math also tells me that over 60% will search for another business if your business doesn’t have a mobile friendly website, they will flip you over like a steak on a BBQ if they can’t read what your offering n their beloved IPhone!

So is it I’m a Snake oil salesman or in those famous words from the Movie a few Good Men, “You can’t handle the truth”. Like it or not it’s a fact that a Mobile Websites just by the math alone would generate your business just because you have one.
