MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Wartburg Hires Angela Ciminello as New Director of Development

Ms. Ciminello will be responsible for implementing a range of fundraising strategies to cultivate donations from all Wartburg constituencies.

Mount Vernon, NY, February 14, 2014 -- Wartburg has announced the appointment of Ms. Angela Ciminello, a professional fundraiser with over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, as its new Director of Development. In her position, Ms. Ciminello will be responsible for the management of the Development Department and activities related to fundraising, donor relations, community relations and event management; and all other activities of the department that enhance streams of revenue from individuals, foundations and corporations.

Ms. Ciminello was most recently Director of Development at Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, where she helped significantly increase support by successfully building revenue-generating programs in a newly-recreated fundraising department. Prior to Burke, Ms. Ciminello worked as the National Director, Relationship Management for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, partnering with chapters across the country to achieve their fundraising goals.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity be a part of Wartburg’s dynamic team and to join its outstanding staff,” said Ms. Ciminello.  “I look forward to exploring new avenues of support with the board and volunteers, while honoring the vision of Wartburg founder, Reverend William A. Passavant: to provide a comprehensive and caring environment to nurture the body, mind and spirit of those we serve.”

A longtime Westchester resident, she has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science Degree from Iona College in New Rochelle. Ms. Ciminello is an active volunteer and board member of the Smiling Faces Children’s Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the education and treatment of children with cranial-facial abnormalities. Ms. Ciminello, an avid reader and music lover, enjoys spending time with her husband and two children biking, hiking and being outdoors.

David Gentner, President & CEO of Wartburg, said:  “Angela brings years of experience in non-profit healthcare fundraising to this role.  She understands the environment and will certainly be in a position to take Wartburg’s fundraising programs to the forefront of this community.  Now is a time to be creative, and we are looking to move beyond our current fundraising initiatives.  We welcome Angela to our organization.”
