Feb. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- The Children's Well-Being Foundation, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that provides medical care to children in Costa Rica, recently announced that it has named Kim Cunningham as its new Executive Director - U.S.

Cunningham has extensive management experience in the nonprofit sector, serving as the Director of Public Relations and Managing Director of Development for the American Medical Student Association, the oldest and largest independent organization of physicians-in-training in the United States and as Communication Manager for the American Heart Association’s Office of Public Advocacy. She currently operates Cunningham Strategic Communications, a public relations firm devoted to helping nonprofit organizations.

“We are delighted to welcome Kim to Children’s Well-Being Foundation. Kim brings new experiences and ideas to support our many initiatives to help underserved children stay or get well and complete school. “I am honored to have been selected for this position and hope that I can make a difference in the lives of children in need,” says Cunningham. “The organization has a strong foundation and a clear mission. I look forward to this new challenge and helping to take the Children’s Well-Being Foundation to the next level.”

About the Children’s Well-Being Foundation

The Children’s Well-Being Foundation was founded in 2007 by a Boston-based physician dedicated to creating and implementing health, health education, and social skill programs for under-privileged children in Central America. The non-profit organization has cared for thousands of children – providing primary care services, dental care, and eye exams – in Costa Rica. The group works with local and international partners to ensure the sustainability of its clinics and training opportunities for future doctors who are encouraged to pursue medical volunteerism. High school and college students also participate in non-medical intern programs.  For more information, please visit www.cwbfoundation.org.
