Follow on Google News | Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to Speak at Encino Chamber of Commerce LunchMayor Garcetti to speak to small business group and take questions in what will be a small business town hall.
With a little over six months into his first term, Mayor Garcetti will for the first time be addressing a west San Fernando Valley chamber of commerce. The mayor will also be taking questions from members and guests in attendance. Topics of discussion will include the city budget, which the mayor has been covering through community townhalls, and other initiatives like the Great Street Initiative. Mayor Garcetti last spoke to Encino Chamber members in December of 2012. The Encino Chamber has been focused on giving members a direct access to decision makers in elected office, and having elected officials as speakers for events has been one of those access points. In addition to in the past having other city, state, and congressional elected officials as speakers, the Encino Chamber was the only west San Fernando Valley Chamber to have the former mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa as a guest speaker. “Giving our members an opportunity to voice concerns and opinions directly to City Hall officials is a priority for us.” said Diana Donovan, CEO of the Encino Chamber of Commerce. She added, “We look forward to being the first San Fernando Valley Chamber to have Mayor Garcetti as a speaker”. Late registration will be accepted due to the late change in speaker. We will begin networking at 11:30 a.m. and the lunch concludes at 1:30 p.m. The lunch will take place at the Monterey at Encino at 16821 Burbank Blvd. in Encino. The cost is $22 for members with reservations. For walk-ins, or members without reservations, the cost is $30. Call the Chamber office to make your reservations (818) 789-4711.
