Follow on Google News | Walk the famous Coronation Street cobbles!Excitement is growing amongst fans of the popular and iconic TV soap opera Coronation Street as its former home is set to throw open its doors for a very limited time.
By: Travelstyle Tours Visitors will get the chance to walk along one of the most famous streets around and even have the opportunity to have a picture taken in the bar of the legendary Rovers Return pub! Here’s your chance to follow in the footsteps of famous landladies Annie Walker, Bet Lynch and Vera Duckworth all of which were assisted by Betty Williams along with her ‘Hotpot’ with many others who have stood both behind and in front of the bar over the decades. The props and sets that still remain have been used in filming for the past 53 years prior to the studios relocation to its brand new home. Sound Stage One will open its doors for the very first time to the public as part of the tour. This promises to be a thoroughly unique and must see attraction for any ‘Corrie’ fan of any age and maybe it will be one of the last opportunities to see this world famous set as it has only been granted permission to open for a six month period prior to its longer term re-development. Although final details are yet to be confirmed, coach tour operator, Travelstyle, based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire have confirmed that they plan to operate a series of excursions including day trips and weekend breaks which will include entry to this brand new attraction. These trips will be available from a variety of regions in the UK including the East and West Midlands, North West, North Derbyshire, North Notts, South Yorkshire and Humberside.
