Vickaryous Law Firm is Presenting Sponsor for 6th Annual Rescue Run Corporate 5K on March 27, 2014

LAKE MARY, Fla. - Feb. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- This year marks the 6^th Annual Rescue Run Corporate 5K Presented by The Vickaryous Law Firm, Seminole County’s only corporate race event.  This unique evening team and individual event is a 3.1 mile run/walk that begins at 6:30 PM after work and will be held in Oval Park and along International Parkway.  The run ends with a wellness fair, a BBQ truck, and awards presentation for the fastest CEOs and top 3 finishers in all the age groups.  The event offers camaraderie, competition, fitness, music, food and fun for over 2,000 participants expected. This family friendly event welcomes strollers and entrants of all levels, while including a chip time system for the serious racers. This year Florida Hospital is sponsoring the Guns & Hoses Challenge, where 200 of Seminole County’s finest will compete for the fastest first responders’ team trophy and bragging rights which are currently held by the Sanford Fire Department.

For 27 years, the Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida has helped people rebuild their lives, providing a safe and healing place to stay when there is nowhere else to go. The Mission, located in Sanford, Florida, is the only homeless recovery center in Seminole County, with transitional housing to keep families intact and an on-site learning center.  Other resources for the residents include job training, counseling, and spiritual guidance to create a path to self-sufficiency.  The Mission also serves meals to the residents and 64,000 others in the community who were left homeless and hopeless due to the fallen economy and other circumstances.

The Vickaryous Law Firm recently gifted $10,000.00 to the Mission to help continue to connect the dots with housing, collaborative programs, and resources for the residents. “There is a great sense of community pride when our firm donates to the Mission,” says James Vickaryous, who also serves as the Mission’s Board President and Race Chairman for the Rescue Run Corporate 5K. “We see firsthand how providing food two times a day, five days a week to people living around us who don’t know where their next meal is coming from makes a wonderful difference - but witnessing a family making their way back into a stable job and permanent housing after losing everything is incredible.”
