PRLog - Feb. 11, 2014 - This exclusive event will recognize the talents of African designers and artist while empowering and promoting these designers around the globe. The affair will showcase the talents of multiple designers' creative work on the runway of the prestigious Great Room at the Historic Savage Mill in Maryland. The event will commence with an opening ceremony celebrating the culture of African. In attendance will be our life patron her excellency Princess Fifi Ejindu , along with a host of dignitaries, first ladies, celebrities, designers and the business community from both Africa and USA.

Princess Fifi founder of African Arts and Fashion Initiative the beneficiary organization and life patron of AAFWDC. Her excellency, Princess Fifi Ejindu is also a celebrated entrepreneur, architect, philanthropist and a descendent of royalty. Princess Fifi Ejindu is an instrumental force behind the African Arts and Fashion Week DC. This event is a vision of her passion to empower and bring change to the youth of Africa.

To fully appreciate the Royal Treatment you are in for once you walk the Red Carpet of this event Special Guest and Speakers include:

The Multi-Emmy Nominated Ojinika Obiekwea will be the host of the evening. Ojinika is a journalist, host, producer and celebrity media personality.

His Excellency Adebowale Adefuye the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United States and Fashion Icon Deaconess Yemi Fawaz will honor the event as honored guest.

Key Note Speaker for the evening is Elizabeth Vazquez, CEO and Co-Founder of We Connect International a partner with Clinton Global Initiatives.

As wonderful as just a few of the names we have mentioned sounds, that is just the start of the Dignitaries, Fashion Trendsetters, and Celebrity Guest that will be in attendance for this evening.

The African Arts and Fashion Initiative is a Non-Government Organization which was launched on Sunday 4th August, 2013 at the Dorchester Hotel, UK. The Aim of the Initiative is to promote Africa on the rise, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and talent globally. Thereby creating opportunities for empowering the African youth. The Emphasis is on driving an African Arts and Style Renaissance to mobilize, sensitize and most importantly, empower the array of talented designers and artists in Africa. AAFI promotes and organizes exhibitions and forums to showcase African Art and Antiques, African Fashion, African Music and all things Made in Africa. Quarterly journals and other materials are published to promote African Arts and Style.

The luminous, prolific and polarizing fashion creator Uche Ibezue, born in Nigeria conveys an embodiment of panache, grandeur and refinement with a regal point of view in the fashion industry. This bravura beauty has design aesthetics that are deliberated and realized in her styling of both national and international dignitaries, celebrities and pageant queens through her jewelry and clothing apparel.
