AIFD Designers Win At The Northwest Flower and Garden Show

Trend Setting Artistic Floral Design on Display at the Seattle Convention Center
 
Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- This past weekend Seattle's Washington State Convention Center played host to the Northwest Flower and Garden Show. The show has been a favorite winter escape for garden enthusiasts since 1989, featuring spectacular show gardens, a vintage garden market, an ikebana showcase, and a floral competition.

Representing AIFD, respectively, in the competition were Brenda Lee Monteiro AIFD, CFD achieving first place and Jon Robert Thorne AIFD, CFD securing second place honors. Monteiro of Fiore Dorato International Pte Ltd of Singapore won with the design titled "Circles of Life" featuring interesting elements such as leaf manipulation, color grouping, and biedermeier inspired segments.

Thorne, president of Countryside Floral and Garden, executed a Salvador Dali inspired creation titled "Daringly Divergent Dali" illustrating depth and stacking techniques accentuated with tropical flowers and airplants amongst various foliages.
