MIAMI - Feb. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- In a news story on pop star Justin Bieber’s upcoming DUI proceedings, NBC 6 News interviewed Miami DUI Attorney Helmuth Solis about the usual DUI court process that occurs in the state of Florida. http://www.duimiamilawyer.com/Video-Center/DUI/NBC-6-NEWS-Helmuth-Solis-on-Justin-Bieber-DUI.aspx

Mr. Solis, a partner at DeFabio, Beckham & Solis, P.A., is a former DUI prosecutor who now devotes his career to providing cutting-edge defense to individuals who are charged with alleged DUI, or driving under the influence.

As shown in the news story, Attorney Solis explained that under normal circumstances, a DUI arrest will first result in the driver being booked in jail, and then being released, if the individual is bonded out. The defendant will then have to attend the arraignment, which is usually scheduled to take place about 21 days after the arrest. At this first court appearance, the defendant has the chance to contest his or her DUI charges. NBC 6 News reported that Justin Bieber, who is a Canadian citizen, is slated to appear in court in Miami next month for his DUI proceedings. The news station said that the DUI case is not expected to affect his immigration status.

In addition to Attorney Solis’ interview with NBC 6 News, Attorney Justin Beckham (who is managing partner at DeFabio, Beckham & Solis) was also interviewed by the media on topics related to DUI. On Jan. 11, 2014, he was featured on the Community News and Review Show by radio station WINZ 940 AM “The Sports Animal.” In his interview, Attorney Beckham explained the rights that drivers have once they are pulled over and arrested for alleged DUI. He also talked about various factors that can lead to misleading DUI test results, as well as other DUI-related topics.

After graduating from law school, Attorney Solis launched his legal career by working as an Assistant State Attorney for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office, where he ended up taking the role as DUI training attorney. In the year of 2010, Mr. Solis and his law partner (Justin Beckham) obtained more than 50 DUI dismissals. His accomplishments as a DUI defense lawyer have been recognized, as he was selected for inclusion in the 2010 Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ list, an honor that is given to more than 2.5% of Florida attorneys each year. This listing recognizes top-rated attorneys who are age 40 or younger, or who have 10 or fewer years of practice experience.

Attorney Beckham got his law career started by working as an Assistant Miami-Dade County Public Defender. He later went on to start his own practice, in which he practiced criminal defense with a primary focus on DUI defense. Throughout his career, he has provided defense in thousands of criminal cases and has handled nearly 50 trials. Like Mr. Solis, Attorney Beckham was also included in the 2010 list of Rising Stars℠. Furthermore, he has been accepted as a member of The National Advocacy for DUI Defense, LLC.
